Some less-than-happy information

Well, with sadness I decided to publish this post. In trying to pick good pictures from our trip below I realized it's kinda hard to hide the fact that I was pregnant in those pictures! Unfortunately, I'm not anymore as of Wednesday evening. But, having been through this with our first pregnancy, I'm not as sad as I was that first time. In fact, I have not shed a tear all week! I was semi-diagnosed with a blighted ovum last week. They couldn't find anything on the ultrasound, so no baby had developed although my HCG levels were high (a pregnancy hormone). So, I decided to wait it out a week and see what happens. So, Tuesday I went in for blood work and Wednesday morning I went for another ultrasound because they suspected a tubal pregnancy. Thank goodness it was not that, it was in fact the blighted ovum. There was an empty tiny yolk sac in there! Well, this lovely worker bee of a cyst on my ovary kept developing my pregnancy hormones to try to keep the pregnancy going, but inside my uterus, it was trying to miscarry. So, my body was kind of arguing with itself, in a sense, and I chose a D&C would be the best and quickest solver of this problem. I do believe things should happen as naturally as possible, but I wasn't about to wait a month for my body to carry through with cleaning things out. So, I am just excited to have that behind us and not have to worry about when it's going to happen. And the D&C went wonderfully, thanks to my great doctor! I don't feel any pain or anything, which is good. Well, I do in my hand where the IV was because they blew out my vain, but that's not too terrible! So, hopefully things will happen like last time after the miscarriage and we can get pregnant again first try! I guess that body wasn't good enough for our little angel waiting to come down! Thanks to all our friends and family for your help and support you've given us...you're awesome!!!

Holly, I'm sorry it happened again, but I'm glad to hear that everything is fine. You definitely want to wait until you can have the perfect little body like you did with Carter. I hope everything works out well.

Holly I am glad you are ok. I agree it is easier the second time but still emotional.I had to have a D&C for my first one I went in into the doctor for my first checkup and there was no heartbeat I was tired of being sick so I opted to have that done. It was scheduled on our first wedding annivarsary. My record seems to be a misscarriage in between each child. I hoping that will not be your case always but hoping your next will stick. Good luck!
