Playing in the mud

Wow...I swear this is my last post! So, Carter's new favorite thing to do is flood his sandbox with his sprinkler and play in the mud! So, I took some pictures today! I also have a funny story about his nap time. He has been staying in his new bed, but today at nap time, he got out like 10 times and I kept putting him back and he would wave "bye" to me. After the next time, he said, "Help me." when I told him he had to lay down and go to sleep. So, I sat next to him, but he pushed me away and waved "Bye" again. (He likes to be by himself when falling asleep). So, I left and he came out again. I told him he couldn't leave his room and had to take a nap and he ran back to bed. This might sound really horrible that I did this, but I locked his door behind me to see if he would just go to sleep if he couldn't open his door. He knocked on the door and yelled, "Mama!" so I went over and told him through the door to lay down and go to sleep. He cried for a quick second (Not like bawling or anything) and then was quiet so I assumed he went to bed. After a few minutes of silence, I went to check on him and he had laid down right in front of the door and fallen asleep! I guess I should've included laying down "in your bed." Ha ha. I thought it was cute. I had to maneuver him out of the way so I could go put him in his bed!

My crib climber...

So, at the end of our lovely Easter weekend, Carter decided he would climb out of his crib! Justin and I were playing a game when we heard Carter's door open! Lo and behold, here comes our squinty eyed toddler stumbling out to the living room! So, we put him back in bed and he went to sleep. 2:30 in the morning, what do we hear? Carter's door open and him crying in the living room wondering where we've disappeared to. Then, this morning, no calling for mommy, straight out of his crib he clumb(?) and into bed with me! Kind of hilarious, considering he's such a small guy falling from a very high place! So, I asked him later when he was playing in his crib to show me how he climbs out. You'll also hear his new phrase "Help me" in there! Needless to say, we went and bought him a new toddler bed, that without too many bumps, he is sleeping soundly in at this very moment! Enjoy the pictures and funny video!

Easter at home!

Nevermind the fact that we celebrated Easter ten zillion times this year! What counts is that we had soooo much fun with our whole family (well, those within driving distance anyway). Carter loved being able to search for eggs. He walked around with his little, "Hmmmm" and finger tapping. His eyes got big too when we informed him there was a basket of toys to search for! Anywho...we started Saturday night with driving out to Shane and Andrea's to do a mini Easter egg hunt for Carter and Makenze. They had a blast! I'm pretty sure we had more fun coloring eggs than they did (mostly Shane I'm talking about here), but hey, that's alright! Carter liked crushing his eggs so he could peel them and eat them (which is what you'll see in a few pictures).

Sunday, we started our Easter off right with a nice breakfast of waffles and bacon! YUM! Did I mention I love bacon? Then, we went over to my parents' house for a fun Easter egg hunt and lunch! Carter also started saying, "Help me." while we were over there! Then, off to church we went to hear my beautiful sister give her first talk ever! How the heck she skated by without giving one for 26 years, I have no clue. She was absolutely amazing and made us all cry (except for the tough boys!). Then, it was nap time for Carter while Justin napped and I made a batch of deviled eggs! Next, it was off to Uncle Chad and Aunt Vera's for some yummy food and fun times outdoors! That summed up our wonderful Easter celebration and we are so grateful to have such an amazing family that makes all our holidays so special! Enjoy the pictures and videos (Sorry, Tina, I had to use your pic...you look great!

Easter in California...

This past Wednesday night, Carter and I, my mom and Robert and Nicole and Hayden all packed up to drive to Canyon Country, CA to see my Grandma and Grandpa! We were all so happy to see them...Grandma even boiled some eggs for the kids to look for, which was so sweet of her! My Grandpa sat in his wheelchair and sat with us while we played a game of Scrabble. We were talking about how he used to do Donald Duck impressions when we were little and before we knew it, he started to do a Donald Duck impression for us! We were all so amazed and cracking up at his still, very talented impression! I'm so happy I had an opportunity to capture this on video to share this special moment with all our family that couldn't be there! I hope you enjoy all the pictures and videod from this great trip!

Here is a funny video of the boys playing with the hose outside!

Happy Easter!

So, I thought I'd start my day with a post since Carter hasn't woken up yet and we have a little over an hour until we have to be at my parents' house! First of all, don't you feel like you should wear pastels on Easter? Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, but I got dressed in a yellow shirt and then when I saw Justin's black shirt, something didn't look quite right. I tried to convince him he should put on one of his brighter colored cowboy shirts, but he just laughed at me...ha ha. I guess everyone doesn't feel the need to wear pastels on this day and Justin would definately never go for it if I told him to wear "pastels"...ha ha. Anywho...
Next I must say that this Easter has been loads of fun so far! We started at my grandma's house on Thursday and Friday. She had boiled some eggs for the kids to find and color. Carter is so fun with this now because he can do everything. He understands finding things and walks around tapping his pointer finger on his mouth going, "Hmmmm." I love it when he does that! He got to be naked outside, which was the best thing ever for him! (I didn't want his clothes getting ruined with the dye)
Okay, and lastly...Easter would not be complete without acknowledging our Savior, Jesus Christ. He sacrificed his life to set a perfect example for us and atone for our sins. What would our purpose of life be without this great sacrifice? We would have no reason for being...he's the reason we can return to our Heavenly Father and I am so grateful for that. Especially that we can be sealed to our families and be together through eternity. That is the biggest blessing of all...I so love my family. And speaking of, I better get to putting some pictures of them up before my little monster wakes up! There will be tons more we take today, of course!

Six months ago...

I wanted to post this yesterday, but I'm a slacker! Yesterday was exactly 6 months since Justin's dad, Damian, passed away! I have been thinking about him so much lately and even found myself crying while going to sleep the other night. I feel like there's so much going on I wish he could be a part of. Justin's mom and I were talking about how Carter has a lot of characteristics of his and I so wish he was around to see them. I wish that Carter could have him as an example growing up because he was such an awesome man. I really felt like he was my dad as much as my other dads...I can hear his tone of voice when he said, "Hi, Holly." He said it the same way every time and I so miss hearing it. It seems like it's been so long since we've seen him and laughed at his crazy jokes! (More like listening to him laugh at himself a lot). But I know he wouldn't like all this sad mushy stuff so I'll share a funny story...

Justin was at scout camp with the young men, so Justin's mom and dad came and picked Carter and I up for his cousin, Ashley's, wedding. On the way there, Mom was telling a story about the book of mormon and how some copies were destroyed at BYU a long time ago and he interrupted her and said, "Rena, who tells you these things?!" Mom replied, "It doesn't matter where I know this from, I just do, okay?" He kept instigating her and making her more frustrated and then he just started laughing at her. It was pretty much the funniest conversation I've ever witnessed between these two! And for those of you that know them, you can imagine how funny it truly was! I always think about that. It was so "Dad" to push Mom's buttons and laugh at her. Mom was always so forgiving of those moments and ended up laughing with him at the end =) Gotta love the sense of humor of these Wagasky boys!

Bubbles!!!

WHAT BETTER WAY TO START OUT SPRING THAN WITH A GAZILLION PICS AND VIDEOS, HUH? I FEEL LIKE I'VE TAKEN A LOT THIS PAST WEEK, BUT THERE'S SO MANY KODAK MOMENTS TO CAPTURE! THIS PAST WEEKEND WE GOT CARTER A WAY COOL BUBBLE MACHINE. I USUALLY GET DIZZY KEEPING UP WITH THE BUBBLE DEMAND SO THIS WAS AWESOME! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT =) CARTER OF COURSE LOVED IT AND WAS GOING CRAZY SAYING, "BUBBLE!" AND HAS BEEN SAYING IT NONSTOP! ALSO, ON FRIDAY, MY MOM, NICOLE, AND I WENT OUT TO SMOOTHIES. YUM! THAT'S WHERE THE PIC IS OF WITH MY MOM AND HER 2 GRANDBABIES! AND I AM PROUD TO SAY CARTER IS AN OFFICIAL ATTENDEE OF NURSERY ON SUNDAY! LAST WEEK I TRIED TO LEAVE HIM AND IT WAS VERY SAD. HE CRIED AND THEY BROUGHT HIM TO ME AND THEN HE CRIED MORE BECAUSE JUSTIN WASN'T THERE...OH SO TRAUNATIC... SO THIS WEEK I DECIDED TO STAY IN THERE THE FIRST HOUR AND THEN LEAVE WHEN THEY SWITCHED CLASSROOMS! HE STAYED IN THERE THE WHOLE TIME WITH FEW TEARS AND A WONDERFUL COLORING PAGE TO BRING HOME! I AM PROUD OF MY SWEET BOY FOR HANGING IN THERE WITHOUT US FOR AN HOUR! AND JUSTIN'S MOM FINALLY RETURNED HOME FROM A 2-WEEK VACATION AND WE ARE HAPPY TO HAVE HER BACK...LOVE YOU MOM! P.S. PLEASE IGNORE THE HEAPING PILE OF JUNK IN OUR LIVING ROOM. JUSTIN UNLOADED ALL HIS SCOUT CAMP GEAR THERE! SILLY BOYS!

Park Day

Here's some cute pictures of Carter at the park with my friend Rashelle and her boys. Rashelle and I met in our old ward and have kept in touch and try to get together once in a while. Her younger son, Jace, is about 8 months older than Carter and they were having lots of fun chasing each other around the park! It was a proud mommy moment because although he has lots of fun playing with his cousins, Makenze and Hayden, and usually finds a kid to follow around the park, it was the first time he made "buddies" with another little boy close to his age. He loves being around other kids and it was fun to see him chasing Jace and visa verca.

A mother to love and honor...

So, this past weekend was my mom's birthday and I need to just say I am so thankful for my mom. I can talk to her about anything and she always listens with so much understanding. I don't know what I'd do without her! She is the strongest woman and did such an amazing job with us two girls growing up. Even though she was single for a good portion of my younger years, I never felt like she wasn't around. She always made sure she picked us up from school and we went with her to work. I'm so grateful for the experiences she gave me when I was younger with horses and everything else! I turned out a lot like her and I am very proud of that! So, anyway, here's pictures of the birthday party to honor this amazing woman in our lives!

My Dada and The Mama

I figured a good title of this post would be Carter's newest titles he calls us. It's been going on for a little over a week now and it's super cute! He'll say, "My Dada!" Or, "Dada? The Mama?" if he's asking where I am...I love when he talks. He also says, "MO!" a lot, which means "No" he just uses the wrong consenant. He'll just walk around asserting his independance all over the place and say, "MO!" for no apparent reason while he's playing. At least he doesn't say it all the time to us. He always gives us an enthusiastic, "Yeah! Yeah! YEAH!" That gets progressively louder until he's satisfied...ha ha. He got a box of new clothes and a pair of flip flops in the mail today and was very excited to walk around in his new shoes and peel the stickers off all the new shirts! Oh, and he got a new haircut! It's super cute, but makes him look so much older which hurts my little mommy heart, but I love it! Just also cut his hair and our living room looked like a pet grooming facility...Gross!

I was so excited to see these pretty blossoms on our tree out front. I love the spring and these blossoms only stay for a couple weeks!
