Are you serious?

This is Carter's new saying he says to me ALL the time. Just now, he said, "Are you serious? Am I really having a Ben 10 birthday?"

Not Me Monday

I am starting to do this, idea came via my cute sister-in-law, Danielle! Confess and join in on the fun and hear what awesome stuff all your friends are not doing =)

1. For starters, I never would bribe my sick son, who refused to eat anything all day, with a spoonful of sugar to take his medicine. What kind of mom would I be if I let that be his only nutrition for the day?

2. I absolutely would never use a wet wipe to scrub poop off a super cute outfit so my baby could keep wearing said outfit...I mean, who would do that. That would be totally gross!

3. I would never let my son go outside with nothing but underwear and cowboy boots on, just so I didn't have to go through the hassle of dressing him to get something from the car.

4. I also would never let my child waste soap by squirting it straight down the drain, just so he would be entertained while I mopped the floor. That is totally wasteful and ridiculous!

5. Lastly, if my child ever peed on their favorite blanket in the middle of the night, I would never, ever just flip it around to the other side until morning just so I didn't have to console a hysterical child at 1am. Who would do that? That would be disgusting!

Kelsie Laughed!

Oh yes...we have exciting news from last weekend. We walked down to the park and we were taking a video since Carter was laughing hysterically on the swing, but Kelsie started laughing too! She just thought her brother and Daddy were too funny to withold her laughter any longer! She's laughed only a handful of times since then, and it's been at the boys every time. Justin shoveling was pretty funny to her =)

Crazy Kids

Carter has been falling asleep in random places lately. I guess that's what happens when you don't take naps anymore...ha ha. I have a few funny stories/conversations to share about our little guy!

Walking down to the mailbox, he looks up at Kelsie and says, "She looks like a little Mexican."
Me: "What?! Why do you say that?"
Carter: "Because her mouth goes like this..."
(Don't ask me where he came up with this one...we've never said anything like that, I swear!)

Carter came in to me the other day half crying and when I asked him what happened, "I put soap in my eye!"
Me: "Why did you put soap in your eye?"
Carter: "Betuz it will make my eye stronger so me turn into the Hulk."

Kelsie was pooping and Carter said, "Eewww! That is so gross when she poops!" So I replied, "Is it gross when you poop?" And he said, "No, it's cool when I poop."
He's also asked me if I'm going to put her in time out for continuing to poop in her diaper.

Carter was licking his finger and wiping him and Kelsie's faces while we were getting into the car and I said, "What are you doing?" Carter said, "Trying to get the sunshine off our faces."

This picture is taken at 10pm...yep, our little Miss decides to not go to sleep some nights. She's getting a little better. But, hey, once she's asleep, she's awesome! She slept for 10 hours on Saturday! Yay me!

New recipe

So, I was very excited this last weekend to find a recipe that did not include meat that Justin actually enjoyed! He usually has to have meat with dinner, but not in this case! They are quesadillas and very tasty! The one on the left is before the cheese was put on and both are before the top tortilla was put on. You should try them!

1. Brush bottoms of tortillas with olive oil and place on baking sheet.

2. Mix can of refried beans with salsa (or in my case I just used a diced tomato) and fresh corn cut off a cob (or canned if you wish!)

3. Spread evenly on tortillas (can make up to 4, but I made two thicker ones and used 2/3 can of beans.)

4. Top with broccoli slaw (found in produce section) and cheese (I used Monterey Jack)

5. Finish off with another tortilla with top brushed lightly with olive oil too (I also sprinkled a little salt on top for extra flavor).

6. Bake at 325 for 12-15 minutes.

7. And for everyone with picky kids like me, I just made Carter a normal quesadilla and used the rest of the can of beans on the side and gave him corn separately too. Oh, and he enjoyed dipping the strings from broccoli slaw in ranch!
I had to post about some new zingers Carter's come up with...he's such a little character! A couple weeks ago he came up to me and said, "Guess what hurts?" Then he karate chopped me.I asked him what all these guys were lined up and he said, "Yeah, Wolverine beat them all up."
Seriously, he only put his underwear on like this to make me laugh. He's such a goofball!

This morning, while Danielle and I were working out, we heard him in the other room say, "This is so not awesome. I just fell down."

In the car yesterday he asked us, "You know what my cat loves?" Us: "What?" Carter: "Fruit loops and cheese."

And how sad is her face...Justin said we needed to document her sad face too.

Eastenn's Blessing

This last Sunday was little Eastenn Shane Wagasky's blessing! I love baby blessings and officially welcoming these little angels into our family. I am so glad to have my husband and his brothers too, who honor their priesthood and can bless our little kids! Andrea switched his clothes as soon as we got to their house, so that's why he's not in his cute little white outfit. He was swimming in it, though!
The man of the hour...Eastenn!

Keagan holding Kelsie...he was so cute holding her!

Trip to the mall

This last Wednesday, I had to take a trip to Henderson to return some stuff Justin bought at the Gap there. He had bought these kids shirts he thought were on sale, but when he was checking out to be $22.50 each! For a little kids shirt, that's crazy! So, since my husband would rather just pay for it and have me take it back later, that's exactly what happened! What a crazy husband I have =) But, this is the same quirky-ness that also makes him leave the room during awkward moments in movies...ha ha
Anyway, Andrea met me out there with Makenze and Eastenn and we had a good time! We had a few good laughs, first because we drive the exact same car, have the same car seat covers and kids exactly the same age. We decided we should dress exactly the same and do our hair the same next time too...ha ha. So, this next story made us both laugh too. There was an older lady in the play area that had brought her grand daughter. She came and sat right next to us, so I struck up some conversation with her. She mentioned, and I quote, "When I come to visit, I take care of my granddaughter." So, naturally I inquired, "Oh, where are you from?" Her reply, "Las Vegas, Nevada." Andrea and I were laughing good and hard about that one...so, she's from the city we were in at that moment? Kinda funny...these cute older folks sometimes! Ha ha...or maybe it's just our sleep deprived selves that thought it was funny.
