Help Me

I'm trying to use a background from thecutestblogontheblock.com and it's not quite working right. I've tried to change the template I'm using, but if someone could just clue me in to what template I need to pick, I would be forever grateful!!! Thanks!

PS There's lots of new posts so don't stop here, scroll all the way down!

President's Day

Yesterday, Justin had off work, so in the morning, we decided to take Carter to Krispy Kreme in the morning for some hot donuts fresh off their little factory. Plus, it's fun to watch all the donuts go through the machine being made. Carter of course picked a donut covered in sprinkles! He loved it, but only ate about a quarter of it before he decided to save the rest for later. He's not a big sweets person, he gets full of treats really fast, which I'm pretty happy about! But it makes it hard to find easy things for bribes, since he happily passes up candy. Anyway...here's some pictures from our fun outing with Daddy on his day off:

Valentine's Day

So, with our house starting to look cute and stuff, I hosted a Valentine's Day party for the little ones over here on Friday! We had stuff out to make cards/Valentine's, which Carter was loving making cards for everyone. And then I made heart-shaped grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch, which I forgot to take a picture of, but they were super cute! And then after lunch, we had the kiddos paint Valentine's Day shirts for themselves. Carter proudly sported his on Valentine's Day, pictured above. I think everyone had lots of fun, and I'm glad I got to host something again, since it's one of my favorite things to do! Here's some pictures from the party:

Carter was so excited before everyone arrived, he couldn't sit still and kept asking, "When are all my friends coming over?"

My friend, Rashelle, who brought two of her cute kiddos, Jace and Mia

My dad was in town for a couple weeks from Portland, which was wonderful because he helped a lot with the painting, which Justin hates. We enjoyed having him with us since Carter hasn't seen him too often with him being so far away. He helped A LOT with our kitchen cabinets, which were so ugly before, but are so beautiful now! Take a look at the before and after:
The before was taken after the cupboards had been sanded down, but trust me, they were ugly.

The big move!

Finally two weeks ago Saturday we moved into our new house we've been patiently waiting for! Justin, Shane, Don (my dad), and my brother, Robert busted their butts for us and got our wood flooring in. It turned out totally awesome! Our whole family helped out so much trying to get our house ready to move into! There was lots of painting, flooring, etc that needed to be done before we could make the move so THANK YOU big time to everyone that chipped in (which was pretty much everybody). My cute husband even painted some cute messages on our floor before they got put it in. Lucky I got here before it got covered or I never would've known =) Here's some pictures of the guys hard at work:

The top message says, "Holly is the love of my life." Isn't he the sweetest?!

My mom helped out with some painting and Carter loved to help!

Unfortuneately, we learned quick that socks and hardwood don't mesh well. Carter was holding some toys and took a spill landing on his face! He had a bruise for almost a week, poor guy! So, we had to go get him some "sticky socks" as he likes to call them! PS My friend, Becky, shared with me a genius idea. Instead of buying the "sticky socks" to use puff paint on the bottom of regular socks since they're cheaper...thanks, Becky!

Big Belly

Well, I am fully planning on FINALLY updating our blog tomorrow during Carter's nap, but I figured I'd start with a little something before I went to bed tonight. Yesterday morning, Carter caught me getting out of the shower, which usually never happens since I take them after he's gone to bed. But he kinda started laughing to himself and said, "You're fat!" Justin and I were shocked he even knew what that word meant and started laughing hysterically. It made Carter laugh too, but then Justin thought he'd share with him that it's not really a nice thing to say, especially to girls. Carter felt so bad when Justin told him that, he started crying and ran into his room. He cried for like 15 minutes and kept saying, "Leave me alone! Sorry Mommy." when we would try to talk to him. Isn't that sad? Really funny that he said that, though. It must look pretty silly to a 2-year-old with his mom having a big 'ol belly all of a sudden. So, here's a little belly shot for ya =)
